On any given day, there are nearly 28,000 children in the foster care system in LA County in need of a family to say, “Yes,” to being the ally they deserve and need. Many people are unaware of the great need for temporary and permanent families for children.

Without a permanent family, half of all children who age out of foster care will be homeless within one year. Only 58% of children in foster care will graduate from high school. And only 3% will graduate from college. African American children and youth who self-identify as LGBTQ are disproportionately represented in the foster care system.

When every child is treated as our community’s most valuable asset, and has a family to help them grow and thrive, these staggering outcomes  will significantly improve. Allies for Every Child is committed to finding a family for every child with your help.

Emboldened to change the current system that is failing our children, Allies for Every Child formed a partnership with Raise a Child and UCLA Ties for Families. Both are innovative, child-centered organizations who  share our desire to reimagine a foster care system that puts children’s needs above all else, while providing impactful foster parent support, training, and services.

We partner with foster parents who have a commitment to social justice and equity, and a willingness to learn how to nurture children who have experienced the inevitable trauma of family separation. Instead of seeking a child to fit their family, our foster parents learn how to be the family that each child needs. Our team of experts helps families pursue the best permanent option for the child, and are with them every step of the way.

Through this partnership, we will change the narrative, change the culture, and change the odds for children in foster care.
